This site consists of hopefully growing number of articles (and photos) about some nice places to see in my home country. I hope it might help some tourists choose where to go and what to do here. Of course, the selection is very subjective and incomplete. It is definitely not meant as a tourist guide but rather a couple of "tips and tricks" (and photos, too) for those who like to consult alternative sources for their decisions. There are some famous touristic sights (many of them on the UNESCO list) but also some rather unknown yet interesting places to explore. The best known places have pages accessible from the main menu, the others have articles in the blog below.

Cheb

This is the westernmost of the pretty little towns along the flow of Ohře River, right on the German-Czech border. It is famous mostly due to the block of old houses in the middle of the main square, called Špalíček (meaning Wooden Block in Czech). Písek

The historical royal town of Písek is located about 100 km south of Prague, on the way from Prague to České Budějovice. It is small (about 30 000 inhabitants) but very nice. It was founded in the 13th century by the Czech king Václav (Wenceslas) I., who started building the castle on the bank of Otava River and the town...
